Application for MayFest

2010 Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Newton MayFEST
Saturday, May 15, 2010 - 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

P.O. BOX 1071 NEWTON NC 28658

PARTICIPATION INVITATION

This is an invitation for your participation as a vendor in the 4th annual Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Newton MayFEST. For the fourth year Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet is our Diamond Sponsor. They were very happy with the results from our first three years and 2010 promises to be even bigger than last years 10,000 visitors. The inflatables, bungee trampoline, pig races, anima rides, slot car racing and the Little Blue Choo are back and this year we’ll have more classic automobiles from the “Liberty Cruisers”.

Our sponsorship, advertising and signage for the 2010 MayFEST will be expanded to a larger audience. This will be one exciting festival you’ll want to be a part of with an expanded area to accommodate more vendors but still allow for better separation between friendly competitors. Our food policy will remain the same, that is, only two vendors of any major food item and these will be on opposite sides of the square. In these cautious economic times you’ll see that our vendor fees are still the same as ‘08 & ’09.

On May 15th this is the place to be!

Please complete and return the application with the appropriate amount. If this will be your first Newton MayFEST send a photo of your booth. If you attended in previous years photos are not be necessary. After this form is received we’ll acknowledge receipt and include you in our set-up planning. Your location info will be sent to you about two weeks prior to Newton MayFEST 2010.

Keep the enclosed guideline sheet. This is for your information and planning.

Please have all your attending personnel review the guidelines.

The day of the festival we look to have all vehicles clear of the festival area by 9:30 a.m, just a reminder that no vehicles will be allowed in the festival area until after 7:00 PM. We are working closely with the police to assure public safety.

The 2010 Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Newton MayFEST will be setting a new high for events in Catawba County and we look forward to you being a part of it. Feel free to contact me at your convenience with any questions.

VENDOR GUIDELINES

The members of Newton Merchants Inc. appreciate your participation in Newton MayFEST. This day of family fun will feature multiple entertainment stages with a wide variety of music plus crafts, artists, and sidewalk sales continuing the Newton downtown festival tradition.

Your application is attached and we intend is to provide a quality event for the public and the vendors. We’ve expanded our publicity plans for newspaper display ads, radio ads and signage. Flyers will be distributed in churches, schools, and inserted in local newspapers. Our group, with many years of planning, organizing and participating in festivals look forward to hosting you.

Our guidelines are straightforward.

· You will provide your own tent, or set-up plus tables and chairs. We provide space and crowd. Tents for all food vendors must be labeled as fire retardant.

· Please review the application. If you extend beyond the purchased space you will be charged for extra spots. If you’re twice as large you may have to relocate.

· This festival is not a flea market event. MayFEST officials may ask you not to sell some items. Misrepresenting what you offer will be cause for a no refund invitation to leave.

· We will make every effort to provide advance location information. Upon arrival you’ll be directed to your spot. We’ll show you where to park and answer questions.

· Please arrive early because all vehicles must be removed from inside the festival streets by 9:30 AM and moved to designated parking areas.

· MayFEST is rain or shine - no refunds. No vendor merchandise is allowed on sidewalks.

· If you wish to use a sound system MayFEST will determine the volume.

· NO SOLICITING OR INTERERFERING WITH FESTIVAL PATRONS THAT ARE MORE

THAN 5 (FIVE) FEET AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF YOUR ASSIGNED SPACE.

· We expect that you will keep your area clean and all trash is placed in proper containers.

· No tear down before 7:00 pm. You will be expected to leave your site clean.

Food vendors may be charged for spilled grease that requires clean up.

· NO VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE FESTIVAL AREA BEFORE 7:00 PM

· If you are the only person at your booth we will assist with relief time for breaks, food etc.

We will not sell merchandise or handle any moneys but will watch your booth. MayFEST will

not be responsible for anything removed. We’re operating on mutual trust by doing this.

Our plans include 2011 so you’ll be asked to complete an opinion survey before you leave.
