Facts as of JANUARY 2009 Hosts- Newton Merchants Group- Downtown Newton's independent merchants united to bring more business to Newton and work to improve the downtown. Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, Rt. 16 Newton NC is the Diamond sponser and the festival is officially called Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Newton Mayfest.
Location- On the streets of Newton NC-surrounding Catawba County Court House and extending one block north and south on both College Avenue and Main Avenue (10 blocks in total). The site is located on Route 16 north of Route 10 and 1/2 mile east if Business Route 321 (turning east at CVS Pharmacy).


Opening Ceremony

Downtown Stores will be having sidewalk sales and offer special merchandise pricing inside the store.


For Children- So far we have the Little Blue Choo, pig races, petting zoo, climbing wall, kid's slides and Driver Dale Dodge with his race car & kids can sit in

Vendors- Over 150 vendors will offer a wide variety of hard to find hand made items, wood products, fashion accessories and useful household items. Flavor filled festival food will keep the public supplied with energy as they persue the craftsman, commercial businesses, non-profit organizations and church groups on display. The Public is invited to bring friends and family and lawn chairs to enjoy a day in downtown Newton with good food, good fun, and good entertainment.
